“On the 12th of December 2025 the department held its inaugural Christmas Lecture. This is a new series of annual public lectures to get the general public more familiar with the Physics Nobel Awards. This year we hosted Dr Tobias Lindström, Head of Science at NPL’s Quantum Tech department where he gave a well-received lecture to 100+ people on macroscopic quantum tunnelling. This was the discovery at the core of the 2025 Nobel awards to Professors Clarke, Devoret and Martinis.”
